The Garage is an artist-fueled space, focusing on expanding ongoing dialog and understanding between artists, curators, and the public.
The Garage is an experiment in context and culture. It embraces the conceptual nature of collected energy dedicated to artistic play. It is a sculpture employing invisible materials, transforming the structures and belief systems informing our lives.
The purpose is to restructure the hierarchy of beliefs to which we either subscribe, revolt from, or complacently accept. The Garage seeks to give reason to a space for a purpose other than its original intention, thus meta-contextualizing the space itself, and more importantly, the relationships of the people involved.
Exhibitions
Unlike the many “biennale” exhibitions worldwide, the garage biennale is broken into pavilions displaying the different exhibitions. However, rather than have all pavilions occurring simultaneously, the garage biennale contains 6 pavilions which occur consecutively on a monthly basis.
